Build Your Own Solar Cooker
Springfield-Area Sustainable Energy Association (SASEA) is holding a
workshop on how to build your own solar cooker.
Event: SASEA will be conducting a workshop where you will be able to
build your own solar cooker. We will have several built models set
up. If it’s sunny out we’ll cook something while we build the ovens.
Participants will work in groups of two or three, and by the end of
the day have a completed cooker. Learn about how much energy there is
coming from the sun and how different design choices affect
performance. Please RSVP so that we can prepare the proper amount of
materials.


Instructor:
Bill Bradley. Bill has designed and built several models of solar
cookers over the past 30 years, and was a member of the engineering
faculty teaching about solar energy at Western New England College.

Cost: Free

Turn RIGHT at the traffic lights onto WEST ST. 0.1 miles
WEST ST becomes MAIN ST. after crossing the bridge 0.2 miles

At the stop sign, bear left onto Front St, which with put you on the
left side of the forked roads in front of you. (SEE MAP ATTACHED FOR
DETAIL) Park in the large lot to your right and then follow directions
for after parking on the next page.

From South

Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto MAIN ST

After passing through the traffic light at the Oak St intersection,
take your next right onto Myrtle St, which is a short street in
between a parking lot and a grassy lot. Take your next right onto
Front St. and park in the large lot to your right. (
