MEETING NOTIFICATION
The bi-monthly meeting of the Springfield-Area Sustainable Energy
Association (SASEA) will be on: Tuesday, Feb 15, 2010, 6-8pm. Open
to members and those who wish to join.
Topic: Shaping the future of SASEA
Dear members and future members of SASEA,
In an attempt to grow SASEA into a more potent force supporting
regional sustainability I would like to create a steering committee to
help guide SASEA. The mission of SASEA has always been to provide
knowledge on sustainable energy practices; both energy conservation
and renewable energy generation. I would like the steering committee
to decide on how to spend our money, network with other regional
groups that are involved with projects that help build community
sustainability, to help organize meetings, to chair subgroups, and to
organize the membership into active participation in sustainable
projects. These goals as well as the scope of duties for the steering
committee will be up for discussion at the meeting. The steering
committee will meet once a month and provide quarterly reports to
NESEA. In addition SASEA will be involved with helping NESEA create
the new chapter structure.
The goals of the SASEA group have been:
• To gather like minded individuals in order to progress the agenda of
sustainable energy.
• To establish activities for which we, as a group, can implement and
bring about meaningful change.
• To inform the community about how they can implement sustainable
energy practices.
• To inform the community about what new and old technology is
available.
Subgroups shall be organized according to member interest and willing
participation of members. SASEA has planned on having subgroups for
the following, once recruitment of volunteer members has been
successful.
Subgroups:
Local Politics
Education
Recycling
Transportation
Building Materials
Building Trades
Solar Energy
Wind Energy
Hydro Energy
Sincerely,
Mike Kocsmiersky
