Dear Comrades

First of all i would like to applaud Comrade Thapelo, Comrade Nonceba
and Comrade Xhanti for trying to settle this issue with myself and the
PYA Presidential candidate Comrade Egmont Bouwer

I would like to make it very clear that this issue with Comrade Egmont
is nothing personal. All SRC councillors will testify that there were
two occassions where i fought against SRC Councillors when they
advocated for the expulsion of Comrade Egmont form the SRC.SRC
councillors can also testify to the verbal abuse i received from
councillors because of my perceived biased towards Comrade Egmont.I
regret for the way things ended up with myself and Comrade
Egmont.whilst on this issue i would like to apologise for my conduct
at the Grazzle. It was irresponsible, stupid and uncalled for, i have
already apologise to Comrade Egmont about my conduct.

My issue with Comrade Egmont is not on a personal issue or political
differences, it is based on performance as i feel he did not perform
in his role as Academic councillor. I do recognise the fact that he
had health problems but so did 4 other SRC Councillors. One of the
councillors was even admitted into a mental clinic. But i do not hold
that against him since we are all built differently.some people can
handle situations better than others so i do not hold that against
him.I want to make it clear that not once did i force Comrade Egmont
to attend meetings, i asked him to inform me if he is unable to attend
meetings or events.I asked him to let me know so i can attend the
stuff he cannot attend.one occasion he informed me so i went as his
replacement.I have a problem with the fact that we did not have
representation at those meetings and at one occasion(no swot days
saga) we suffered from it.We failed the students there not because he
did not attend the meetings but because there was no communication to
inform someone else to attend those meetings.

Sure there are reasons for no attendance but how do explain not
responding to students request.I have proof of students who called, sms
and e-mailed Comrade Egmont but he did not respond.I also have proof
of students who called him but said the students have the wrong
number.I have proof of students who were excluded and were waiting for
response from Egmont but he did not respond to them.I also have proof
of students who lost their DP's sum cudnt continue with journ 3 and
were waiting for a response from the Comrade Egmont but got no
answer.Comrades that was the point i started to halt payment of his
honorarium.

I have heard rumours of me being a traitor and being against
PROGRESSIVE 15. . .i want to make it unequivocally clear that I
SUPPORT PROGRESSIVE 14(15 minus comrade Egmont).During my tenure as
SRC President, there were talks of suspension of sum PYA societies, i
squashed every single talk about PYA societies(again ask Comrade
Egmont if you do not believe me).wether its about ANC or PYA. . i made
it very clear about where my allegiance lie.I have been a SASCO member
since 2006 (where i was one of 20 SASCO members present at the Great
Hall at an event where we invited Dr Badat and mayor Kate. I have been
through the leadership of Pakama Ngceni, Awethu Zumana,Thapelo
Tselapedi, i was present at Zoo major 2008 when we staged a coup to
elect Ta-Siya as President of SASCO. Over the years i had the
privilege to vote for SASCO members like Xolani Nyali, Kholosa
Loni,Luzuko Buku,Ta-Siya, Pumeza Mdangayi, Thapelo Tselapedi,
Diphapang Mafokeng and many more and it will be very unfair for anyone
to question my loyalty to SASCO and PYA because i do not endorse the
candidancy of Comrade Egmont.

I have tried to stay as clean as possible during this whole debacle by
stating only things i can back it up with evidence but my name has
been dragged in the mud with allegations that has no evidence or
proof.I want to make it clear that if i said anything that is
incorrect or without merit, i will publicly apologise for my conduct.
I ask Comrade Egmont to do the same thing, i have asked him to look
for proofs about any wrong doings and if he does find anything he must
make it known to the students but if he doesnt find anything, he must
publicly apologise for discrediting me in public.I think it will be
very fair that things are done in a very reasonable manner as i
believe this issue is not personal so it should not be viewed as such.

Interms of the spat with comrade Egmont, i want to assure everyone
that this is the last time i will be speaking on this matter. There
will be no de-campaigning, no statements and etc. If he does win
tomorrow, i will respect the results and give him all the respect and
help he will need as President, Vice-President Internal, Vice
President External. And if he does not win, i will give him the support
i promised to give him for next years elections.

Thank you for your time Comrades.
