We have sent you this message yesterday and we thought that it be
important that we also send our response to the channel that we got
the message from. This is to do justice to your intended outcome,
however they may be and to also do clarify people who are not clear
about this matter.
Let us first appreciate the effort you took to brief us on this issues
and let it be stated that we did not in any way question your priority
or your loyalty in relation to the SASCO before this issue but our
questioning is an after effect. We agree that you have been a very
active member of SASCO throughout the years and we highly applaud this
and we believe that it is a responsibility of every member to take a
view on any candidate either contesting SASCO or Contesting the SRC on
behalf of SASCO.
Our main problem is not necessarily the issue that you have raised but
the manner in which you have raised and expressed it The leadership
and membership of the Branch can only entertain matters that are
before it not sheer rumours and we found it highly unfortunate that
you would have information regarding a candidate of SASCO but fail to
bring the matter before leadership, instead choose to take the stance
you have taken, which is to bad mouth the cadre and lead a smear
campaign against him.
Ever since we had the story from the streets, we met as leadership and
engage the cadre and we were relatively satisfied by the information
he brought before us( That can be since you have not brought this
matter before us but decided to speak about it in a public elections
grazzle). Unfortunately, we could not call you as the manner in which
you have approach the whole thing was highly oppositionist.
We now note your concerns, however late they may be, but our process
in dealing with them is already at advances stages.
Let me ask this one again comrades. There is a Branch Executive
Committee at Rhodes and there is a Regional Executive Committee in
Western Region and these are the structures that you communicate with
and they are equally responsible for communicating with the Provincial
Executive Committee. You don?t email the PEC and the NEC mainly
because you have their email addresses, but you do that when you have
lost confidence in both the BEC and the REC in dealing with the matter
at hand and my our view is that you will not be in such a situation as
you have not attempted to bring the matter before the BEC and the REC.
The PEC has very equally important matters to deal with hence we exist
as lower structures.
We also highly request that when you want to raise you raise your
issue with the Branch leadership, communicate with the Branch
Secretary not to the entire membership. Our view is that you will be
doing nothing than further spreading the malicious smear and it begs
question on the genuity of the complaint.
Let us say this one again, as the Regional Executive Committee we have
instructed the BEC of Rhodes to constitute a Disciplinary Committee
that will try to establish the merits and de merits of this entire
issue and arrive at a balance of probabilities.
