Last Friday on the way home from Lake Louise, we stopped at the Stoney Nakoda Resort Casino.  I was here a couple of years ago when skiers got two buffets for the price of one by presenting a lift ticket or season pass for Sunshine.  I wanted to find out what's offered now.

Here are the official terms and conditions:

The Friday buffet is Steak and Lobster, regular price $24.99.  This is great value for the price.  The featured dishes are roast beef, lobster, bacon-wrapped tenderloin and poached salmon.  I don't mean that you get your choice of these.  You can take some of each and then go back for more after you finish your first course.  That's in addition to a large selection of salads, vegetables, fruit and desserts.

The crowd at the next table turned out to be the snow hosts from Nakiska.  That wasn't surprising since they drive right by the Casino at the end of the day.  What was surprising was that they hadn't heard there was a discount for skiers.  Bunny told them about it.  Here's another funny thing.  We presented a Louise season pass and a Louise discount card and each got an $8 discount.  The Nakiska team each got $6 discounts.  I think somebody was confused because the website doesn't say anything about different discounts for different ski areas.

The food was great and the staff pleasant and helpful.  I think the buffet is an excellent way to wind up a day of skiing.  Unfortunately for many of our members, there's no buffet on Wednesdays.  Also, they don't start serving until 5 PM.  Thursday is pasta buffet night.  The regular price is $13.99 and skiers get two for the price of one.
