Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 18. That's the date of Sara's
first round performance in the Shiner Rising Star contest.

Last year's winner, Darryl Lee Rush, has played Bocktoberfest, the
Texas Music Revolution, and opened big shows for Robert Earl Keen and
others, since being crowned champion last year. Word has it that Shiner
will be painting his face on delivery trucks in all 31 states of their
territory, as his new CD is released in the coming weeks.

Sara will compete with 32 other acts to become the 3rd act with a
promotional relationship with Shiner (along with Rush and Keen). The
winner will get a CD produced by Ray Wylie Hubbard with major promo
dollars behind it.

Audience support is a big factor in the judging, so we need everyone to
make plans to come out to Sam's Boat in Addison on Aug. 18. We will
have special giveaways that night for e-blast subscribers...details to
come.

We need your help in growing our e-blast list in the build-up to Shiner
Rising Star. Sara is giving away a FREE CD for every 10 subscribers you
bring in by Aug. 10! Invite friends, family and co-workers to sign up
at Sara's home page http://www.sarahamilton.com, then send us your
complete list of 10 email addresses, along with your mailing address.
We'll confirm their subscriptions and mail your free CD.

Sara drew such a big crowd to Adair's on a Thursday night last month
that they invited her back tomorrow night (July 7). Now let's show 'em
she can handle a Friday or Saturday night!

Call My Name showed up on the Top 5 Most Added list of the Americana
Music Association Chart this week, and it's about half way to making
the chart. John Prine, Robert Earl Keen and Dwight Yoakum top the
chart, and our friend, Hayes Carll, remains at #9 this week. Check out
the complete chart at

The Austin Chronicle ran a terrific review of Call My Name last week:

"...she displays a rare talent for singing and writing
a wide sweep of country...Hamilton has created one of
the best debuts out of Texas this year."
