Hi TPR's,
     Read the below mail and tell me what can we do asap in this respect :

Hi Swapan,
I emailed our HR (HCL Tech) and got the name of NIT SPOC for HCL (single point of contact).

HCL is changing it's strategy and going to acquire significant number of freshers this year than laterals.
I was looking at College Campus Placement Report and dont see HCL name in there, although companies like Infosys and TCS hire a significant number. http://www.nitdgp.ac.in/nit10/placement10da.rtf

So if we can introduce the SPOC from NIT Durgapur (placement committee?) - both SPOCs can work together both on Summer Internships and later on Placements.

I mentioned it to my HR that it will be win-win situation both for HCL and my juniours to hire summer interns from NIT Durgapur and later hiring them full time.

Do you know the best way forward here?

Dear All,

Present students in NIT Durgapur in different branches need Summer Internships/ Trainings for the year 2011 and in future also.

All are requested to look into this matter in their respective organisations/ companies for the opportunities and arrangements for such internships. Those who can directly provide this opportunity on behalf of his/her organisation may please post here (with a copy to me at swapanbose@hotmail. com ) with the details. Those who own a company and can provide such internship/training may also please post here or write to me at swapanbose@hotmail. com . In case the HR Dept. of any company have any specific format, that also may please be sent.

The modalities and formalities to be undertaken by the students may also please be posted. Students will then arrange to send specific requests through the Training Placement and Student Welfare (TPSW) department of the college.

Let us all try our brothers to have some exposure to the professional environment in this summer.

Aditya bhaiya,

This is a very enticing prospect for NITd, to have a chance of associating with HCL. We already have a cover letter for interns and can arrange it to be mailed from the TPSW, officially, so as to start the official communique between the two parties.

Could you please clarify, if we need to mail the HCL HR or the correct steps for proceeding so as to consolidate the ties for future placement scopes next semester.

talk with SNS sir and fix this as soon as possible. I dont know if its going to be real helpful but our approach should be fixing all loopholes so that people wont give excuses. Please run behind SNS or do whatever but if possible fix it by today or by monday so that we can then jump on their shoulders to provide internships . I know its difficult to bestow infront of SNS but its not impossible and that too when we still have some hope.

           I have added Ankit and Ishan from Training and placement cell. I had discussed with them on this. They had some query regarding whom to send mail (HCL HR-Email-id ) from college training placement cell in the regard. Now you have direct contacts so as to run this smoothly .
