In cooperation with the CPSC, Nielsen-Kellerman ("NK") is voluntarily recalling all metal-boom R2 Microphones for the Cox Box® 08 and Cox Box® Mini because the microphone presents a potential low-voltage electric shock or burn hazard. This potential hazard can be created when the R2 Microphone and Cox Box or Cox Box Mini are used in the presence of water with speakers, speaker wiring or connectors with an exposed electrical conductor. The metal boom of the microphone can conduct electricity from the exposed speaker wire or connector and shock or burn the user where it contacts the user's skin. NK is offering consumers a free replacement R2 Microphone which eliminates the electric shock or burn hazard in all probable use scenarios.
