I left on "Alpine Annie," my 2003 K1200RS, about 0730, from
Guilderland. I took I-90 West. It was uneventful until I got to
Brookline, MA, where the Larz Anderson Museum is. There's a lot of
really weird/bad intersections there, some are roundabouts, some are
just big ones with multiple roads feeding in. The problem is the
locals know them and try to zip through, but the out of towners have
to figure it out. In front of me coming off an exit ramp was a guy on
a black Monster. The GPS was telling me to go right. He was kind of
thinking about it, so now he's pointing right but looking left, and he
RAMS into the bumper of a Chevy sedan. It made a big BONK, he bounced
back but didn't fall. He waved the car driver on, they both pulled
away into different spots, and when last I saw the guy was off the
bike staring at his forks. If a black Monster gets listen on
Craigslist in Brookline or Natick, watch out :)

On the way there I'd seen lots of pickups and trailers full of old
Hondas, obviously on the way to the Rice-O-Rama. I'm glad I wasn't
going to that. I have virtually zero interest in vintage Asian bikes,
except for some really special ones (GPZ550, Ninja 900, CBX, for
example).

The Larz Anderson meet should be called Ducati Day, for that's just
about what it is. They had the demo truck there again, and some hot
models walking around and posing, and plenty of Ducks in the show. If
you like Ducati, this is the meet for you.

I stayed about 2 hours, took lots of pics, and then decided to take
the long way home. I took 9 -> 122A -> 122 -> 2 and then road the
Mohawk Trail all the way. I passed the big white teepee where we'd
always stop with the kids for ice cream and to take their picture in
the teepee, what good memories. Then it was up and over Petersburg
Pass and back home. A good, long day of riding, about 365 miles, which
I desperately needed. Rt. 122 was especially picturesque, and with the
clear sky and bright sun it was just about perfect. Pictures to
follow.
