First Village Organization (VO) formed in Garkha Block

In Garkha block of Saran district the formation the Self Help Group (SHG) began in 2012 among the women belonging to the socially and economically backward section of the block under IKARD-APMAS-NABARD Programme. There are 13 SHGs functioning in Mahamda Village of Mahamda Panchayat. All of these have elected a president, a treasurer, a secretary from among their members and opened SHG bank accounts. On 11 February, 2013 these three officials of each SHG constituted a Village Organization (V.O.) in the village. It is first SHG Village Organization in Saran district under the programme.
