Hi, I just found and joined this group. My name is Chris(tine) and I
loved Walking With Frodo, have just started Walking With Bilbo and am
also writing my own sequel to Return of the King, the experience of
Frodo and the elves passing over the sea, arrival at the Blessed
Realm/Tol Eressea. Yes I am a Tolkien "fanatic" but stick close to the
literature and enjoy relating it to our walk as believers. I have been
born again since 1974 and am married to a Jewish believer. Together we
are congregational leaders of a Messianic congregation in
Massachusetts. Am looking forward to this group and hope there is more
activity on it in the future.

Oops, I think I just posted a blank message. Sorry about that. Anyway,
I wanted to welcome you Chris, and I hope you're enjoying Walking with
Bilbo! I was wondering if you meant to ask a question about LWW (given
the title of your message). If so, fire away! I'd love to get a
discussion going.

Hi,
My name is Hannah and I don't know Chirs. I think you may have sent an e-mail to the wrong person. I loved Walking With Frodo and Walking With Bilbo, though. I tried to become a member on SarahArthur.com, but it wasn't working, so I don't know how I'm getting these. Thank you.

Hi, Hannah and anyone else from the discussion group.  If it's not working that's too bad but maybe we should contact Sarah Arthur.  I will check the website again.

LWW - I saw a preview for C.S. Lewis' Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe and it looks interesting, also opens on my birthday, so my hubby already told me that will be my present.  Although I don't think it will have as deep a reach as LOTR has had.

Hello all,
This is Sarah Arthur just wanting to clarify how the discussion group
works: If you're receiving these messages, it's because you signed up
for the Google Discussion Group through www.saraharthur.com and
indicated that you'd like to receive new postings as emails whenever
they come in. So Hannah: Your email to Chris is actually a posting on
the discussion board at
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/SarahArthurDiscussion (under the
topic "New Member Lww"). Just so you know! If you want to look at the
discussion boards and add input now and then, copy
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/SarahArthurDiscussion into your
browser and hit "enter": it should take you to a little list of
discussion topics that people have started about my books. You will
still receive the postings as emails too if you wish.
We seem to be having trouble with people understanding how this works,
so I'm thinking about starting a blog instead through my website --
anyone and everyone can post their responses to the blog. In the
meantime, this is what we've got! Thanks for joining up, and let's get
some good discussions going!

I have one quick question about how this works. Can we reply to the
e-mails for the discussion, or do we need to post an entry to the
discussion group? If we can settle that last question, I'm ready to do
some serious discussion about LOTR and LWW.

Thanks,

OK, I think that just answered my own question. You can post either
way.

So now back to the question at hand. I think I disagree with Chris
about the reach of the Narnia Chronicles. They are just as popular, if
not more so, than LOTR. And I have a friend at church who definitely
thinks their spiritual imagery, especially Christian imagery, is much
more in-depth than anything in LOTR. Either way, I just hope they do a
great job, and from what I have seen of the trailers, I think they may
have.

I am excited to see the movie in December and I am also anxiously
awaiting Sarah's book about it.

Hi,
I didn't know that I had signed up for the group, because when I tried it wasn't working, so I just figured I wasn't on it. And if it's all right, how do I unsubscribe? I like the blog idea though!

Hahnnah,
I just figured that out, here's the scoop:
You can go the main discussion page and select "Unsubscribe or change
membership" Then you can set it up if you don't want to get the replies
via email ect.

I'm also very excited about the LWW. The trailer certainly looks
promising! My dad started reading Narnia to me when I was 2. I
remember when we got to The Magican's Newphew he drew the attics of the
houses to help me visualize them. The Narnia movie will be a bigger
deal than LOTR to me because I first read LOTR because I heard there
were going to be movies whereas Narnia has been part of my life for
awhile. If that's the cause for a lot of people (like the kids in my
youth group for example) then Narnia movie should be very popular.

I'm glad to be here, looking foward to discussion!!!
