LRO Cosmic Watch Muon Detectors and radioactive source

I recently obtained a piece of radioactive rock from ebay and have tried placing it onto of my 2 CosmicWatch detectors (in coincidence) – to my surprise the detection level DROPPED when the rock was placed on top of the detectors, and rose again once the rock was removed – see screenshot below. I was expecting the level to go UP when rock placed on top of the detectors and DOWN again when removed. Can anyone explain the discrepancy for me?
