I see you using the AirSpy SDR for your RA work.  Why not some other
brand such as the SDRPlay RSP's?

AirSpy or RTL-SDR brands are supported by IF_avg   .

I've not seen a useful alternate ..

( & an updated version is ~ 1 wk away : Improved Graphics & New Averaging technique )

This sequence creates spectral data normalized to the Cold Sky Background and scales in dB relative to it.

I have calibration curves for this sequence. 

 In order to evaluate hardware and software, known, validated units scaling is imperative.    ....  for '3D plots' ....   no so much .

Yes, I calibrate all my spectrographs and SkyPipe.  Quite familiar with it.
