why  WIFI  as a control mode?

My   small  Discovery  Dish  is now  going to   be  controlled  by  software   via  Discovery   Drive.   I have  not  tested  this..  looking  forward  to testing  .. hope  it  works.

I just  ordered the  new Discovery Drive.
Maybe  people  like  Alex  Pettit    can  test  this  for  us with his  lab.... how  accurate  and stable is  it?

Hi, Stephen.

Great News!

I'll order mine soon, It won't help with my 2.4 m dish but should be fine for smaller 2nd WiFi grid dish setup that I'll move to a no RFI location soon.

Thanks.

I am   running  on   Ubuntu 24.4.04   on  AMD.  I have  checked  my kernel drivers for   wifi...     I   am  missing the driver    and   I don't  want  to take  any chances  installing  the  suggested  driver in  my kernel  while    I am playing/testing my  GNU Radio  experiments.

WIFI and usb,  both emitters, possible interference.  Maybe a simpler control bus that only is active when you interrogate the positioner? Instead of being "connected "all the time.
just my 2 cents.

And you do not have any RFI effects from the wifi?

I do not see how local wifi can avoid generating RFI. I, too, hope it works.

Discovery Drive Info: Wi-Fi connectivity (2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) with browser-based web UI

The Wifi does operate at about 1GHz higher frequency than the H-Line Signal
