Stephen Tzikas gave an outstanding Live presentation of the operation of the Green Bank Observatory 20 meter Skynet Robotic Telescope last Sunday. If you are not familiar with this instrument, I highly encourage you to watch the RTOP video. THANKS Steve !
An account may be obtained through SARA, the limitations being users must be US Citizens, and as the operational costs are $60/Hr, frugal use is suggested The time per session is shown so you can keep track, and "power-users" can reimburse SARA .
But the good news : the sessions are Fast: most data can be acquired in 1-5 Minutes with slaved Mapping vs Many Hours using Drift Scans.
I posted a few photos .. one of the Telescope, a Map Session which Stephen performed ( and included in the Video ), and a 'comparison' between the GBO 20 meter and the 'PRT' 1 meter :)
