LWA & Friends Zoomer on Wednesday November 5

Our next LWA & Friends Zoomer is next Wednesday 5 November at 11/9/8 am ET/MT/PT. We welcome Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers (SARA) member Nathan Towne, who will address his recent experience with Fourier-type spectroscopic instruments with a single, low-gain antenna, and their capabilities. SARA is wonderful; I maintain a plaque commemorating my Green Bank SARA lecture from long ago at home ... my talk was on the LWA of all things! It is particularly gratifying to hear of SARA interest in current LWA (writ large) activities as it validates our genuine appeal beyond the ivory towers of academia and out on the streets where it really matters! (OK, sorry, got a little carried away ... but I mean it, I think it is great LWA is on their radar screen and it bodes extremely well for our future.)
Afterwards, we will have our usual roundup of project updates, or anything else even vaguely LWA-related, folks would like to discuss.
Looking forward, we continually invite informal science or technical presentations (~20-25 m, flexible), with students especially welcome, including “in progress” reports. (Great opportunity for students to practice talks.) Please reach out to me with suggestions for future meetings.
