18/2/2025 @ 8pm UTC. Follow up Microsoft Teams meeting to BAA Introductory Workshop on Hydrogen Line (H-Line, 1420 MHz) Radio Astronomy of Milky Way.
Last month, we had an introductory meeting on how to do hydrogen line radio astronomy. We explored the principles behind hydrogen line radio detection, and looked at the hardware options, and what you could expect to find if you undertook this project in your own backyard. That video is available to view on the British Astronomical Association YouTube Channel.
Tomorrow night, 18 February 2026, at 20:00 UTC, we are holding a following up meeting, with a talk on software options, followed by a question and answer session.
I would like to warmly welcome anyone who is interested to join us from both BAA and SARA (and elsewhere) – you don’t need to have attended the first meeting to take part tomorrow night. A video from the meeting will be available on the BAA YouTube channel later in the week.
