Recently I have talked about some work done on a preamp, control board, low noise power supply and patch antenna. I have posted these designs on my GitHub account; https://github.com/N5BRG

The preamp is preforming only  slightly better than the NooElec Sawbird based on my measurments.  The parts used are quite small and difficult to solder unless you have the correct tools and experence.

I have included a control board which may be used with your projects. This board has  voltage regulator and driver capable of supplying lower nose for a 5 volt source.  A relay is included in the design and may be placed on the board or left off when not needed.

I also posed the design files for a 1420 MHz patch antenna. This antenna may be used for testing or possible as a dish feed. Please be very careful about transmitting any signals on 1420 MHz since it is a protected signal. Ideally any testing done would be inside a metal building or screen room and the signal levels should be reduced to -100 dBm which is still stronger than many radio astronomy sources.

I have a few of the PCBs I can make available for these projects. Please send me an email off this list if you would like a PCB. I am dealing with some health issues so my response may be slow.

Hello Bob,

I ran some tests using the first 3 elements of my Circular Patch Feed Disk Yagi.
It might be useful to operationally compare This to Your Design.
