Update from GBO on 20 Meter Scope

Hi all,

I got a response back from Green Bank on the 20 Meter Dish. I'll just copy their response in verbatim.

"Hi Jason,

We currently are not supporting any observations for the 20m with X-band with any science or software support so the telescope is at a "use at your own risk" status. We hope to be able to offer the X-band receiver with more support in the future. We also plan to return to our L-Band receiver this week.

I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have.

Also, thank you, for having contacted GB Jason and as promised the 20 M is now back with the L-Band receiver on. 

Kind of wished they'd kept the X-Band on for a couple more days though. I had two more synchrotron emitter targets I would have liked to observe even with the ongoing system bugs. 

Maybe by next time and then they will have corrected their setup bugs by then.

Hi,

I’ve been following this thread with interest. I was wondering which portal is used to access the Green Bank 20m, and is registration open to anyone?

Also, is there an archive where past observations can be downloaded for analysis? Even without recording access of my own, I’d be very interested in analyzing existing data.

I run a 2.4 m radio telescope at L-band and have been working on some observation and analysis scripts, would be useful to test against other observations.
