Here is an  graph showing  “Taurus A”   and “3C157” tail gating last night with my latest 21cm interferometer setup

Setup, Two 1.9m dish with stovepipe feeds and SM5DGX lna.  The baseline is 17.3m East / West.

The weaker 3C157 fringes (flux =875 Jansky @ 1420MHz ) can be seen just after Taurus A transit (flux = 150 Jansky @ 1420MHz).

Hi Jan,

Your work is truly impressive, and the detailed description of your setup is excellent. I find your projects very inspiring. Have you considered publishing your findings in the SARA journal?

I believe it would be a valuable contribution.

Hi Jan,
Is that 3c157  OR 3C153?   There are alot of possibles in this area.

I had to run it last night to see if I caught the same.  See attached
Yes i got a lot of interference on the TauA plot. something strong and changes phase over3-4 minutes. but tau is obvious.

Nice catch Mike... 3C157 looks ok..

My FOV is large so part of trailing “Taurus A” in mixed into the transit start of “3C157”. If I had larger  dishes I would  get better separation between them..

‘I see you have lots of noise…Do you use a band pass filter or just Sawbirds?

Hi Mike,

I was checking and couldn’t find a listing for 3C153 in Radio-Eyes, SkyView, but I believe I found it in the NED (NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database) under " By Name | NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database  "

I also think it appears in VLASS QuickLook, but its declination is significantly different from both Taurus A and 3C157.

Jan,
your right  3C157  is 210 Jy
i was thinking  of  3c153.1 which is only 19 Jy

I was looking in the old 3C  in the Radio Astronomy 2nd ed book.
