I hope those joining us here at Gren Bank online are enjoying the conference as much as we are!

Don’t worry about not being here – since I have arrived I have had to avoid a rattlesnake (really!), lightning strikes (last night), “suicidal bambis” (a term from another member of the group – and yes they do like to try and walk in front of your vehicles – I think this is why Americans have big cars!), and the most worrying item is something called “biscuit with gravy” – don’t ask what that is (biological warfare probably!)

So, you are better off being online possibly!

Actually, being next door to the 20m I observe with is amazing, having my photo with the Jansky telescope, Drake’s SETI dish, the 140m telescope and of course the football-pitch sized 100m RT – it is incredible (whilst of course keeping a weather eye open for snakes, bears, and the like).

There is always next year to come…..

Hi. I'm late to the party. How do I get a link to the conference?

Good Luck!

I have been trying for over a month with no luck.

May be some one at the Conference or online can
report the problem.

My email's on the issue have not been answered!!!

Regards

Remember, we're talking West Virginia here, backwoods country, so I think really this is more appropriate.

I  was  born  in the  deep  South  and   lived there  for   six years.   Then we moved to Colorado    where I had to loose my  deep Southern Accent  and learn to talk again   ..    I am the    John Denver type today...     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITie7FinrPQ

Loved your  presentation.....  the  black hole  stuff...   very     good..

Andrew,

Western  USA  is  very different   from  Eastern  USA.

While saying each state being very different is a bit of a stretch, it is not that far off.  Every town is unique and is loved by its residences.  “Strangers” always find something odd regardless of where you go on the planet.

I’ll agree there are dishes served at Green Bank are not common on my menu card… but it’s good to explore new tastes and new experiences.  There are multiple options.

Best wishes,

Ed

   Stephen,
Thank you very much, I am glad you enjoyed my talk. It really means a lot for you to have appreciated it. I myself, although not having been born in the South, grew up there from 8 to 12 in  Ft. Pierce, Florida,  and then Dallas,Texas for over 40 years,  Texas not being quite the south, not quite the United States totally either, I guess you know it was the independent Republic of Texas before it became a state, not really sure what it is right now.  Currently I've  become just a Califronia.dude. In any case I'm not totally immune of the cultures from them all I guess. First concert I ever attended in my life was Creedence Clearwater Revival in Dallas, so I am totally in tune with your selection there and ironically John Fogerty was born and raised up the road from me.in Berkeley, how strange.

I think you have to apply through Marcus but he's probably pretty busy at the conference. I was supposed to apply a week ago so it's my bad.
