Everyone is welcome to the inaugural BAA Muon detection group online meeting. These meetings will be videoed and later available to view online on the BAA YouTube channel. To take part, you do not need to be currently monitoring muons in your radio shack/observatory – at this initial meeting we will discuss some of the theory and options available for detecting the fundamental particles, muons, in your own house! Demonstrate relativity at home, and count particles only 200x the size of an electron using kit initially designed to be used in professional observatories. After an initial presentation, there will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, and also for those who are currently observing muons to present their setups and discuss their results (in a similar style to the way SARA monthly meetings are run) – this is actively encouraged so please bring photos and results if you can.
