A horrible Flat-Earth book, by a horrible human being

Amazon is currently selling a new book, "Welcome to Flat Earth". Written
by someone who is a horrible human being, and a big fan of
  that Austrian fellow with the funny mustache.

I've read parts of it, in .pdf form.  It is, as you might expect,
nonsense.    I've left an excoriating review myself, and I'm hoping that
some of you
  will as well.

The more negative (1 star) reviews, the less likely it is to get
promoted by Amazon.   It's not really that the content is complete
dreck, it's that the people
  benefiting from sales are monsters.

A question or two for them:

 

Is Earth the only flat object in the Universe, why?

 

If Earth is not the only flat object in the Universe, then why, when we look at objects through a telescope, do we not see the “edge-on” view of said objects? Everything we see appears to be round, implying that we either see the objects “face on” all the time, or more likely that the objects are spheres.

 

I do not expect any discussion on this!!!!

There's a sub-group of these cretins who believe in the "upward acceleration model".

Many of them are profoundly gullible.  If you came up with a credible-ish sounding "theory" that was perpendicular to objective
  reality, they'd eat it up.

But, really, I absolutely don't want to side-track this group any further on the subject.  If you feel motivated, you can leave an
  excoriating review for the book, if not, no biggy.

Because nobody who has the kind of deepish pockets that could support a project like that would ever waste their money on these fools.

I spent a decade playing in the amateur rocketry sandbox.  Even a very-high sub-orbital flight is a significant technical and financial challenge.   A few of them have
  started high-altitude balloon projects, but fumbled them in various ways.   They absolutely discount footage from amateur rockets (there's some out there), and
  amateur high-altitude balloon flights.   They are decidedly evidence-resistant, choosing to claim that any evidence that fails to support their position must be
  either "fake" or literally from Satan herself.  These people are deeply deeply entrenched in a world of dangerous ignorance.  But many of them are simply
  "stupid but harmless".  Some of them, like the authors of the book I referenced, have anti-science views that are embedded in a much darker narrative of
  things like white supremacy, misogyny, etc, etc.  Those are the ones it's worth spending a few moments to disrupt their path...
