We've reviewed our advice for Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories and have lowered the overall travel advice level. We now advise reconsider your need to travel to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories overall due to the volatile security situation, armed conflict, civil unrest and terrorism.

We continue to advise do not travel to Gaza and areas near the border with Gaza, border areas with Lebanon and the West Bank (excluding East Jerusalem).

The security situation in Israel and in the region is unpredictable. A ceasefire is currently in place between Israel and Iran. Regional tensions remain high and there continues to be a risk of further military conflict. The security situation could deteriorate at short notice. Flight cancellations and disruptions could occur with little or no notice, including due to airport and airspace closures.

In an attack or other armed conflict, you should take shelter, follow the advice of local authorities and monitor local media and public safety information updates through the National Emergency Portal (accessible in Israel only – see 'Safety').

If you intend to travel by land into a neighbouring country, you should check the latest public information from local authorities on entry requirements and border arrangements, including opening times. Border crossing points may be closed without notice (see 'Travel').

Terror attacks can occur anywhere at any time, including by lone actors. Be alert to personal safety risks. There continues to be a very high threat of military and terrorist attacks against Israel and Israeli interests across the region.

We now advise:

Reconsider your need to travel to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories overall due to the volatile security situation, armed conflict, civil unrest and terrorism.
