As some of you know I have been promoting SkyEcho as a safety tool for glider and other platforms that are not required to have permanently installed ADSB out units. I have considerable experience with this unit and it is long overdue for approval by the FAA. SkyEcho 2, would be a game changer for sailplanes that can provide a new level of safety for potential mid air conflicts. OBTP

Does part 108 NPRM open the door for portability with ADSB out. I am a commercial drone pilot as well and part 108 could possibly open the door for SkyEcho use in gliders.

Having been involved with the FAA regarding NMAC's, I have sent information to the FAA and others about the need for ADSB portability that could create a greater safety awareness in all aviation aspects. If SkyEcho is being used in AU, NZ, and other countries then why not here in the USA? The main objection that has been relayed to me is that the portability aspect is not approved. This is a no brainer for glider, balloon, and other N numbered aircraft.
