IDoc is a standard data structure for electronic data interchange (EDI) between application programs written for the popular SAP business system or between an SAP application and an external program.
When you want to communicate with day your business partners like customers or suppliers on non-SAP platforms, then the SAP Bysibess unit exchanges data through EDI in IDocs. In simple words, IDoc serves as a vehicle for data transfer. And you can also customize it as per your needs.
