Call For Papers -- SAP Annual Conference 2023
University of Antwerp, 30 June - 02 July
(N.B. This will be an in-person event - there will be no hybrid attendance option.)
Submission deadline: Monday 16 January 2023
Open themed event
The event will be an open themed applied philosophy conference (papers will be given across a wide range of topics in applied philosophy).
**Papers submitted for consideration must not have been published, or accepted for publication in final form, at the time of submission.**
**Only one proposal per named individual is permitted (including co-authored papers and panel submissions)**
Additional info:
- The conference will host 50 individual / co-authored papers across 10 concurrent sessions: typically 5 papers per session.
- Concurrent sessions will run for 40 mins each: 25–30 min for the speaker’s presentation, 10–15 min for Q&A.
- The conference will host up to five panel sessions running concurrently over a two hour time slot.
- The conference will host 4 keynote speakers over 4 plenary sessions (see details below)
- Plenary sessions will run for 70 mins each: 45–50 min for the speaker’s presentation, 20–25 min for Q&A.

The organisers hope to include some panel sessions at this year’s annual conference. Please submit a panel session proposal here.
Submission deadline is Monday 16 January 2023
The conference will be an in-person (non-hybrid) event.

Funding opportunities
The Society makes a number of funding opportunities available to its members.
- Event Funding of up to £3000 (deadlines: 01 Jan, 01 May, 01 Sep)
- Postgraduate Travel awards
(Members can make applications at any point throughout the year.) - Further Funding opportunities for individual projects
(Members can make applications at any point through the year.) - Doctoral Scholarship awards (up to £10,000 in year of award)
Awards are available to UK applicants and to applicants based in EU / EEA EFTA countries (Applications can be submitted from 01 May 2023.)

Membership of the SAP is open to anyone interested in its aims, whether or not they hold a philosophical qualification or are employed as a professional philosopher.
