Recognising the especially difficult employment situation for recent PhDs, the Society wishes to offer a number of short-term research grants to postdoctoral researchers who have not yet found a full-time teaching or research position. These grants are intended to support interesting work in applied philosophy and to help able candidates weather these exceptionally difficult circumstances.
The scheme is open to anyone meeting the relevant criteria. You do not need to hold an SAP membership to apply. Previously unsuccessful applicants are able to reapply. Successful candidates who are not already SAP members will be provided with a full membership for 2022.
The awards will be for a grant of £4,000 (or equivalent in the applicant’s home
currency) for a nominal period of six months.
