We offer a variety of ways to control who can access your videos and how they can do so. This article explains how to change a video's privacy settings and control where it can be embedded. To learn more, see Overview of video privacy settings.

Another element of video privacy is controlling whether your video can be viewed somewhere other than vimeo.com. All privacy settings except for Private allow you to embed your video on other sites.

The Video Creator is available to anyone with a Vimeo account, but to unlock most features, you must have a Vimeo Pro account or above. It is available across web, iOS, and Android through the Vimeo mobile app.

To start making your video, simply download the Vimeo mobile app or head to the video maker via your desktop to start customizing. You can access your videos interchangeably between the mobile app and the web.

You can access hundreds of video templates designed for countless use cases in our video maker. From event announcements to eCommerce-ready templates, simply enter your query into the search bar at the top of the page or select a category from the top bar to locate video templates specific to your needs.

Unlisted link sharing, like our other advanced privacy settings, is only available to Plus users and above. But as always, Basic members can still opt to give specific people access to their videos, add a password to protect them, or upgrade to use all of our powerful advanced privacy options.

I am working on a story map and wanted to upload a new vimeo video. I currently have several videos hosted, all from the same vimeo page with the same share setting set. They were all upload about a year ago now. I would like to add a new video to the story map and I keep getting a "video not found" error. The video works on the browsers, so reaching out to see if anyone ahs had a similar problem that has been fixed.

I want to create app that allow users to upload their video to my Vimeo account. I want to hide these video from others. And allow only authenticated users of my app to view these videos. My question is does Vimeo allow me to do? If yes, how can I do?

Yes! It can be done on a web site. I have recently seen this done on a tutorial site, using a privacy setting available per video. I trust this could also be done using an app, but it's possible the access permissons may be different.

I was not able to finish the process of including the video on the slide. The video seems freely available to access, so it is not the settings in Vimeo. Can you upload yur video again in Vimeo, maybe their process didn't close things correctly.

I'm having the exact same issue. My videos were working properly several weeks ago and now I can't get any of them to work with Captivate. I need for it to be an interactive video but didn't even work when I tried to embed it. I was able to pull up other Vimeo videos and they all see to work fine. I'm going to go into the global settings of my Vimeo account to see if there is an issue there.

Intrestingly, the scrom file that I had created earlier still works. (It is able to fetch play the video from vimeo.com with the interactivity from captivate).

But when I try to use the same vimeo video link on captivate now, It doesnt work. It says 100% but then stays still until I click cancel; after that I get error message stating the Captivate encountered an internal error

I'm also still unable to insert Vimeo links. Getting the same "internal error" as you. But weirdly, for a new days there, I was indeed able to insert vimeo links. I checked all my vimeo settings and made sure there was nothing unusual there.

So I tried this and it still didn't work. I've reached out to the adobe team and as usual I didn't get a response. I'm starting to think the Captivate team only work a few months a year then go off and do something else.

jimmyshoe85, thanks for taking one for the team and trying the fix from paw20. I had a suspicion that the fix was situationally effective, and not a universal solution. Agreed that the Adobe support on this and other issues has been severely lacking in recent months.

I have a customer that would like to block vimeo completely but allow it specifically from one website, aaregistry.org. I have PAN-OS 4.1.6 running right now and have tried to use a custom URL category in my rule to allow vimeo specifically from that one URL, but I am having no luck. I also even added vimeo.com to the URL category and it doesn't seem to be working, am I doing this right? (screenshots attached)

My block rule works, it blocks vimeo for my user account completely, but adding my allow rule did not grant me access to vimeo on aaregistry.org, or even vimeo.com after I added that to the custom URL category.

Thanks mikand, I was actually able to get this working by allowing the Vimeo application for the websites player.vimeo.com and aaregistry.org and then blocking it for all other sites. They also asked me to attempt to set up the same sort of thing for Youtube videos but I was unable to get that to work as the URL is always www.youtube.com for those videos, even embedded.

So I guess if you add *.vimeo.com and *.vimeocdn.com your allowrule would start to work. However this will also open up for any other vimeo from other sites - I dont know if its possible for PA to setup the rule as a parent (only allow *.vimeo.com and *.vimeocdn.com if the referer is *.aaregistry.org, perhaps you can create custom app that does this?).

I understand you have an answer you like. As this post comes up when searching for Vimeo and YouTube, and for the sake of completeness in the forums, I'd like to point out that allowing player.vimeo.com allows Vimeo on just about any other website embedding Vimeo. While this may be fine for what you are doing, it may not be the result others are after.

I am attempting to block Vimeo by use of blocking the URL category streaming media on my own network, while using Vimeo to stream videos from my own website. I do not have the "application" blocked, just the URL category.

While these examples specify my videos, you would need to figure out your own video GUIDs/identifiers and add them. The YouTube example has been working for me for years with minor additions over the years. The Vimeo whitelist is new to me.

We had some embedded videos that simply would not work until I found your post. We are only using the URL filter, not application based. The only difference I had was that I had to add the following two links as well:

So far I have been able to get away with just the *.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ur3tVeAqXE style links, except for when using embedded links one time. I had to add the following link as well, youtu.be/8Ur3tVeAqXE to make it work then.

I have embedded several videos into the video slider without any problem. Now I have created a 1/3 column and dragged a video content into that. Opened the video content, pasted my embed code from Vimeo and at first I see the video and can play it. But, once I hit save draft and go to preview, all I see is the embed code. I am hosting my videos (these are examples of my work) on Vimeo all in h264.mov format, which again works beautifully in the slider. Did I miss a step?

Question 2.. Where can I get more information on the Header. I want to know if I can have a Header where the title of my company is boldly across the header and the menu appears underneath it.
Many thanks.

Thank you for the update. In case you have questions, please take some time to review all of the resources in the Theme Documentation as a lot of basic stuff like theme installation, css snippets etc are already available in there with better explanation and awesomeness. Watch some of our Video Tutorials to learn more about the different aspect of the theme. You can also search the forums for queries that has been answered before that might be related to your problem.

Apparently I get signed in successfully but still aren't allowed to view the linked content. The "Sign in" + "Upgrade" buttons (BTW: both occuring at Spotlight only but not in the forum) made me assume a purchase would be required.

I meant, make available all the tutorials on YouTube! (I must admit, I didn't check for the older videos on YouTube, but I assume they are not there, otherwise there would be no problem.) It should be possible to update links in the older "Spotlight" posts etc.

UPDATE: On checking my emails I was able to get into Vimeo (without paying anything!) after confirming my email address (I never thought of that!). But, yes, as has been said, searching doesn't show any Affinity videos.

Vaguely? Shouldn't all related links on Serif / Affinity websites get either updated, get an information or trigger a different message, just for the sake of reliability, especially in times of Canva?
