process to apply a kernel manually
1- copy the 2 SAPEXE files to cdexe
2- make a copy of the existing kernel files
and store them elsewhere
3-use SAPCAR to uncar the SAPEXEDB and SAPEXE file directly from cdexe
4- copy the SAPCAR kernel file to /tmp
5- /tmp/SAPCAR -xvf SAPEXE_120-10007264.SAR
6- follow the uncar process carefully to spot any error or warning
7- from cdexe execure disp+work to confirm the new kernel was installed
8- as root run :roo ./saproot.sh <SID>
9- as root run # ./oraroot.sh <SID>
One other thing, saposcol is run as <sid>adm, I believe I said root, so wanted to correct myself.
The ./saproot.sh and ./oraroot.sh reapplies ownerships whereever necessary in the Kernel
Let's reconvene today and re-apply the kernel patch, please make your own notes the way you would understand when you go back and read
