REQUIREMENTS:
• 7+ years of proven experience building and operating complex data warehouse
and database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server-based technologies.
• Ability to write complex T-SQL and/or Polybase queries including views,
stored procedures, and functions.
• Proven experience implementing a broad range of data modeling techniques
including third normal form, dimensional, and data vault modeling on Microsoft
SQL Server-based technologies.
• Knowledgeable in data warehousing on Massively Parallel Processing (MPP)
platforms with experience on Azure SQL Data Warehouse, SQL Server Parallel Data
Warehouse (PDW), or Microsoft Analytics Platform System (APS) preferred.
• Understanding of data partitioning and distribution strategies for
performance, and partition switching for load.
• Production experience with portioning large data sets on Microsoft SQL
Server-based technologies.
• AGILE/SCRUM
PLUS:
• Microsoft Azure data technologies experience in Azure Data Lake Storage,
Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and SQL Azure
• Usage of SQL Server In-Memory capabilities.
• Experience with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.
• Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS)
• Restaurant and/or consumer technology experience
SUMMARY:
The Database Developer will develop and operate the data warehouses and data
marts needed to capture and organize consumer data for the creation of consumer
profiles to deliver insights on our customers and power consumer
personalization and engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implement and maintain a Consumer Dimensional Datamart to provide
consumer profiles for use for marketing analysis and for personalization APIs
for internal and external systems.
• Develop complex queries, views, and stored procedures to analyze and
aggregate transactional data into consumer profiles.
• Design data management approaches for a large volume data warehouse including
portioning strategy and implementation.
• Design and develop integration workflows for consumer data for real-time and
batch sources using Informatica Cloud Data Integration and/or Azure Data
Factory.
• Develop SQL queries necessary to extract, transform, or load data as part of
integration development.
• Assist other team members with SQL queries necessary to extract, transform,
or load data as part of integration and analysis development.
• Iteratively deliver database, data warehouse and integration solutions as
part of a collaborative Agile team made up of members from several data and
analytics disciplines.
• Provide production support and solve complex database challenges.
• Work closely with the team to ensure architectural standards are followed as
it relates to database design and best practices.
• Ensure that work submitted has been tested either by means of unit tests or
developer integration tests.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders in relation to User Acceptance Testing
(UAT) and Quality Assurance for functional testing.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance related to the development of
database involving Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Lake Analytics, Azure
SQL DW, and SQL Azure.
• Work with the team to architect, design, and develop quality database and
data warehouse deliverables.
• Communicate the status of development, quality, operations, and system
performance to all stakeholders.
• Ability to concisely document integrations that can be readily understood and
applied by both IT leadership and developers
