Required Experience / Background:
- CURRENT hands-on experience developing/coding Java Enterprise Technologies
- Hands-on experience with the design of Java technologies
- Hands-on experience developing Unit tests using JUnit AND execution of the unit tests
- Current experience with testing tools (Selenium, Cucumber, Mocha, Protractor) on JAVA framework
- Ability to advise and provide guidance on best coding practices to use in various scenarios.
- Experience in an Agile environment with strong Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Full development lifecycle experience with the ability to solve complex business, data and technical challenges
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Required Skills / Tools:
- Must have at least 8 years of hands on Java developing/coding with recent experience in an Architect role.
- Hands on experience with JUnit - JAVA based testing and test execution
- Current direct experience with automation tools – MUST HAVE Selenium, Cucumber, Protractor, Mocha, Postman, ReadyAPI, and JMeter
- Role will be actively working to drive the automation – must have current experience with various tools and ability to advise on best usage
- Direct recent experience working within a Scrum team and a solid understanding Agile principles
- ATDD, TDD, and test automation and a true understanding of each
- Must have recent experience working with AWS
- Strong analytical skills along with leadership/mentoring experience
- Solid database querying knowledge - preference for MS SQL Server, Oracle a plus
- Familiarity with a variety of programming styles (e.g. OO, functional) and in-depth knowledge of design patterns required.
- Confident communicator; able to argue a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views
Strong preference for:
- Experience of front office software development with an Asset Management, Hedge fund or Investment Bank is a plus.
- A solid understanding of financial markets and instruments is a plus.
Education
- Strong academic record and a degree with high mathematical and computing content e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Physics from a leading university.
