"เกทเสมนี" (มัทธิว 26:36)

เกทเสมนีคือสวนที่อยู่เชิงเขามะกอกเทศ เป็นที่ที่พระเยซูรับเอาถ้วยแห่งพระพิโรธจากพระหัตถ์ของพระบิดาแทนที่ประชากรของพระองค์ พระบุตรของพระเจ้าถูกลงโทษโดยความชอบธรรมแห่งพระเจ้าเพื่อความหลุดพ้นของเรา พระองค์ทนทุกข์ทรมานเพื่อเราเพียงลำพัง ความรักแท้ของพระองค์ช่างยิ่งใหญ่เหลือเกิน!

จงมองดูองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าขณะที่พระองค์ทนทุกข์ทรมาน จงฟังเสียงร้องคร่ำครวญของพระองค์ที่ทำให้หัวใจแตกสลาย พระองค์ทนทุกข์ทรมานทั้งสิ้นเพื่อรับประกันความสุขให้แก่เรา และเพื่อให้เรามีสันติสุขกับพระเจ้า พระองค์ไปที่เกทเสมนีและกลโกธา (ที่ที่พระองค์ถูกตรึงกางเขน) เพื่อที่เราผู้เชื่อจะได้ไม่ต้องไปนรก พระองค์ผู้ซึ่งปราศจากบาปรับเอาการลงโทษของเราไป เพื่อที่เราจะได้รับเกียรติสิริในสวรรค์!

"Gethsemane" (Matthew 26:36)

This was a garden at the foot of the Mount of Olives. Here Jesus, as the substitute for His people, received the cup of wrath from the hand of His Father. The Son of God was punished by divine justice for our salvation. Alone He suffered for us. How great was His love for us!

See the Lord in His sufferings; listen to His heart-breaking sighs. He endured it all to secure our happiness, and make our peace with God. He went to Gethsemane, and Calvary, so that we who believe would not go to hell. He, who was sinless, took our punishment so that we would be glorified in heaven!
