Role Overview
Cognizant is seeking an experienced Technical
Project Manager (TPM) to lead and deliver complex network and
wireless programs in a Service Provider environment. This role
requires strong hands‑on technical knowledge, close coordination with offshore
delivery teams, and direct interaction with onsite client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
·
Lead end‑to‑end delivery of network and wireless programs for
large enterprise/service‑provider clients.
- Coordinate
execution with offshore engineering, validation, and vendor teams.
- Act
as the primary point of contact for onsite client stakeholders.
- Own
project planning, execution tracking, risk management, and dependency
tracking.
- Drive
cross‑functional alignment across firmware, network, cloud, QA, and
operations teams.
- Translate
client requirements into clear technical and execution plans.
- Ensure
release readiness, quality, and on‑time delivery of milestones.
Required Technical Skills (Hands‑on Experience

delivery.

experience in Service Provider / ISP environments.

system‑level understanding of subscriber networks and wireless
infrastructure.
- Experience
in client‑facing, onsite technical project management roles.
- Strong
communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Proven
ability to coordinate and drive execution across global/offshore teams.
- Strong
ownership mindset with focus on delivery and quality.
Location Requirement

- Non‑local
candidates must be willing to relocate and work onsite from Day‑1.

1. Hands‑on Network & Wireless Background is
NON‑NEGOTIABLE
- Candidate must have
12–15 years of core networking / wireless / broadband
delivery experience.
- Pure IT Project
Managers, Agile PMs, or PMO‑only profiles are NOT acceptable.
- Experience must be in Service
Provider / ISP / Telco environments (not enterprise IT only).
2. Mandatory Technical Expertise (Hands‑on)
Vendor must validate real execution
experience (not exposure or coordination only) in MOST of the
following:
- BNG / SP Edge
architecture
- Ciena Benu vBNG (virtual, VMware /
UCS)
- RADIUS / AAA, subscriber
scale & load
- GRE tunnels
- QoS policy enforcement
- Provisioning systems
(SCPS) using REST APIs
- Wireless Controllers
& APs (Ruckus AP, OctoScope)
- Cisco ASR 9000
- Strong routing &
switching fundamentals

3. TPM Role – Must Be Technical + Delivery‑Focused
- Candidate must own
end‑to‑end delivery, not just reporting/tracking.
- Proven ability to:
- Translate customer
technical requirements → execution plans
- Drive firmware,
network, cloud, QA, and operations teams
- Manage release
readiness, risks, and dependencies
- Must have direct
client‑facing onsite experience.
