• 8 — 9 years of Data science is the primary — ML Engineering, Data science is key
• Data architecture is a plus
• Architect is secondary requirement
• Able to design the system, worked in smaller teams
• 10+ years of overall experience with 3+ years of strong Data Science building solutions, 2 – 3 years of AI Solutioning experience (GenAI and Agentic AI is what they will be implementing in future)
• Have an understanding in Data science and AI
• Design a solution in AI – what architecture to use, what LLM models to use, building solutions in AWS, what DB to use – mongo db, vector db
• AWS technology stock – Kendra, Aurora, SageMaker, Bedrock
• Was data scientist in past and moved to architecture
• Drive solutions
• A lead Data Scientist with understanding of Solution designing can fit for this role
• Not suitable for this role: “Solution Architects” with no data science background” , “Data Architects”, “Cloud Architects” 

 

Job Description:

Overview:
Drive enterprise optimization by developing and executing architectural strategies for AI-driven initiatives. Translate business needs into secure, scalable, and high-performing technical solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and roadmaps.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain domain architecture models (current, target, and transition states).
• Lead architecture design for AI solutions leveraging AWS and modern technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
• Research emerging technologies and assess their fit for enterprise adoption.
• Guide vendor evaluations, RFPs, and architecture governance processes.
• Support development of reusable patterns, tools, and best practices.

 

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or 4 additional years of experience).
• Experience: 10+ years in architecture, including leadership of AI-related initiatives.
• Preferred: Advanced degree; exposure to multiple architecture domains.

 

Skills:

• Strong expertise in AI solution design using AWS.
• Advanced stakeholder collaboration and communication.
• Proficiency with architecture frameworks, modeling tools, and standards.
• Ability to mentor, influence, and lead cross-functional teams.

 

Preferred Certifications:

• Certified System Architect (or equivalent).
