Summary

  • The team is looking to migrate functionality from the existing Mainframe-based ChangeMan ZMF platform to a DevOps solution known as IDz, which includes tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Artifactory.


Notes:

Hiring Manager Required Skills:

  • Strong ChangeMan ZMF administration (non-negotiable)
  • Strong Mainframe background (z/OS, JCLs, skeletons, compilation)
  • Experience supporting ongoing mainframe development environments
  • IBM IDz experience
  • Prior ZMF → IDz migration experience (strong plus, not mandatory)
  • Understanding of DevOps toolchains (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory)
  • Java, JavaScript, Python Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • AWS, Azure, Cloud DBs Nice to Have (Not Required)


Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the enterprise-wide migration from ChangeMan ZMF to a modern DevOps-based mainframe development environment using Bitbucket, Jenkins, and IBM Mainframe DevOps accelerators. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and supporting complex, mission-critical systems while serving as a subject matter expert during the transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain large-scale mainframe and enterprise applications

  • Analyze requirements, create technical designs, and ensure high-quality code delivery

  • Support CI/CD pipelines, system integrations, performance, and production issues

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architecture and DevOps roadmap decisions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of software development experience with strong analysis and design skills

Preferred Skills:

  • ChangeMan ZMF and mainframe tools (RACF, CICS, DB2, ISPF/TSO, REXX, etc.)

  • DevOps, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and system integration

  • Cloud platforms, databases, and modern programming languages

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities

This is a key role in driving the organization’s transition to a fully DevOps-enabled mainframe environment.
