Job Title: Technical Architect – Telecom Network Lab (Setup, Maintenance & QA)
Location: 1 Verizon Way, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920

Job Summary

We are looking for a Technical Architect / Lead to manage the full lifecycle of our telecom network lab. This role involves setting up and maintaining the lab environment, leading testing/QA activities for data, voice, and video products, and guiding a team of engineers. The position requires strong telecom knowledge, hands-on lab management skills, and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain the telecom lab environment (routers, switches, servers, SBCs, firewalls).
Procure and manage hardware, software, and testing tools.
Develop documentation, network diagrams, and lab policies.
Oversee upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
Create and manage QA strategies, test plans, and automated testing frameworks.
Conduct functional, performance, and interoperability testing under real-world conditions.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers and testers.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams.
Present test results, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of telecom experience in network engineering, lab management, or QA.
Strong knowledge of telecom protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, SIP, RTP, VoLTE, IPTV, CDN, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, or Ericsson equipment.
Experience with testing tools (Spirent, Ixia, Wireshark, JIRA, TestRail).
Scripting/automation skills (Python, Ansible, Bash).
Strong leadership and communication skills.

Preferred:

CCIE or similar certifications.
Experience with VMware, KVM, OpenStack, AWS.
Knowledge of SDN/NFV and CI/CD practices.
