Title: Power Builder Programmer

Location: Carson City Nevada

Duration: Long term 2-5 year project

Platform: PowerBuilder Classic 12.1 with SQL Anywhere 12 – Client Server Application

Consultant must:

· Have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or any other equivalent degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of Power Builder programming experience.

· Must be comfortable with PowerBuilder framework PowerBuilder Foundation Classes (PFC)

· Have experience working with multiple level inheritances, User Objects, Windows, composite and nested Data windows and Menus.

· Have extensive experience with the usage of User Objects and their strengths.

· Experience working with an Application with large number of PBL’s (libraries) and objects.

· Comfortable creating Windows, Data windows, structures, functions from scratch without assistance.

· Comfortable with Build, Deploy and Source control check-ins/check-outs with Power builder.

· Very good at debugging and troubling shooting issues using the Power builder debugger.

· Comfortable with SOAP Connections connecting to Web services from PowerBuilder Classic.

· Willing to learn and comply with the current build and deploy process that’s in place.

· Willing to work in both a production support and project resource for the CARRS PowerBuilder application.

· Be willing and able to assist Junior/new Power builder developers in their tasks.

· Ability to provide guidance on Power builder processes and procedures for betterment of the application.

· Be an expert in deriving and understanding business rules by reviewing existing programming with little or no documentation.

· Have good communication, documentation and user requirement gathering skills.

· Be proficient in analyzing, debugging and testing programs.

· Be a team player who can work with other contractors and permanent employees under a complex team structure.

· Be proficient in gathering user requirements and creating Technical Specifications Document, Functional Specifications Document, Business Layer Document, User Interface Layer Document, etc.

Experience and skills desired

· Experience in Mainframe COBOL, DB2, CICS, VB.net, asp.net is an added advantage although not a requirement for this position.
