Role: Tableau Server Administrator

Location: Seattle, WA

Type: Contract

Duration: 6 Months

 

Job Description:

1. 2+ years of experience implementation, deployment and ongoing administration of BI of applications like Tableau desktop, Tableau Server, Power BI , etc…
2. Strong knowledge of Tableau installation, configuration, administration, performance monitoring and tuning (version 9.3).
3. Proficient in SQL.
4. Must be a self-started who can work independently yet be a strong team player with excellent attention to detail and customer service skills.
5. Experience in creating and maintaining requirements specification and technical design documents
6. Ability to prioritize and complete technical tasks with minimal instruction and      supervision.
7. Attitude for learning new development roles tools and technologies quickly.
8. Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Tableau Server Administration

a.    Trouble shooting of data sources(Ability to navigate a highly complex environment with multiple types of data source of connections like Horton works, Cloud era, Hadoop, SQL, etc.)

b.    Adding new users

c.    Testing and upgrades

2. Teaching tableau best practices to current and new users.
3. Providing production support and resolving issues regarding reports and data as identified by users
4. Translate customer requirements into unambiguous, scalable, robust, and flexible technical solutions for incrementation
5. Clearly concisely communicate status of all assigned tasks to co-workers, customers and managers.

 

Additional Skills:

1. Administration experience of the entire suite of Tableau and Power BI Products.
2. Knowledge in Release Management and Change Management processes.
3. Experience with Agile development life cycle management.
4. Process oriented and ability to make on going improvements to existing IT- Business process.
