Job Summary:

The client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Snowflake Data Engineer / Architect to lead enterprise-scale Snowflake implementations, migrations, and optimizations. The role involves architecting data pipelines, ensuring scalable performance, and enabling advanced analytics in Snowflake environments. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in Snowflake with strong client-facing and communication skills, capable of driving requirements, solution design, implementation, and delivery.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, and implement enterprise Snowflake solutions.

  • Optimize performance using virtual warehouses, micro-partitioning, query profiling, and resource scaling.

  • Define and enforce RBAC policies, secure data handling, time travel, and zero-copy cloning strategies.

  • Build modular, testable data models with DBT (Data Build Tool).

  • Orchestrate workflows with Apache Airflow (or equivalent).

  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Fivetran, Matillion, Informatica, or similar.

  • Integrate with AWS cloud-native services (S3, Glue, Lambda, etc.).

  • Write complex SQL queries (window functions, CTEs, dynamic SQL).

  • Automate and script using Python or Scala for data transformations.

  • Lead end-to-end implementation: requirement gathering → architecture design → UAT → go-live support.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 15+ years overall in data engineering / BI platforms.

  • 8+ years direct experience with Snowflake.

  • Deep knowledge of Snowflake architecture and performance tuning.

  • Hands-on experience with DBT, Airflow, Fivetran/Matillion/Informatica, AWS services, Python/Scala, and advanced SQL.

  • Proven experience with at least 3 enterprise-scale Snowflake implementations.

  • Excellent client-facing communication skills – ability to explain technical and business implications clearly.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.

  • Kafka / Kinesis / CDC pipelines.

  • Prior consulting or client-facing engagement background.

  • Snowflake Certification (SnowPro® Advanced Architect or Data Engineer) – sponsorship available if otherwise a strong fit.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related technical discipline required.
