Job Summary

The client is seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in DB2 v10 (or higher) on IBM z/OS platforms. The DBA will support mission-critical payroll and pension applications (PMS & PPMS). Responsibilities include DB2 installation, migration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, disaster recovery support, and working closely with application teams to maintain stable, secure, and optimized database environments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and tune DB2 databases on z/OS.
• Author and validate procedures for database processes.
• Identify potential issues and deliver fixes/updates for DB2 programs.
• Coordinate with Tech Support for production migrations.
• Assist with tool upgrades and participate in Disaster Recovery drills.
• Support large-scale payroll and financial applications.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with DB2 (v10 or higher) on IBM z/OS.
• Experience with IBM IMS V12 or higher.
• Proficiency in CICS transaction server.
• Ability to author REXX scripts and troubleshoot assembler code.
• Strong COBOL & DB2 integration troubleshooting skills.
• Experience designing solutions with Oracle Transparent Gateway.
• Knowledge of BMC BPPM Monitoring software.
• Experience with IBM Tivoli LDAP server on AIX.
• Proficiency with IBM InfoSphere Replication Server.
• Experience installing/managing DB2 on AIX platforms.
• Prior experience with enterprise-scale financial/payroll applications.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline required.
