“What will become of Sto. Rosario Parish five years from now?”
Though this question is seemingly disturbing, I would like to invite every parishioner to take time to reflect on the implications of this question for the sake of the future generation: the salvation of our very own children.  Are we travelling in the right direction?  Given the different transition of Parish Priests who have served in our Parish, can we still see the Golden thread of God’s presence as He molds every family and community living in the community?  Can we proudly proclaim that we are the Church that actively continues the work of salvation started for us by Jesus?
Back in 1991, the Philippine Church consisting of the Clergy and the Laity made a major breakthrough by creating a unified vision for God’s people.  The vision statement goes this way:

Immersed in a society
Fragmented by divisive conflicts
And afflicted by widespread poverty
Yet deeply aspiring for fullness of life in God;

We, as Church in the Philippines,
With total trust in God’s love,
Envision ourselves
As the community of disciples,
Who firmly believe in the Lord Jesus
And joyfully live in harmony and solidarity
With one another, with creation, and with God.

Following the way of our Lord,
We opt to be a Church of the Poor,
Which demands evangelical poverty of us all
And harness the transformative power
Of the poor among us,
Toward the justice and love of God in this world.
We pray that we may also formulate a common vision, mission, goals and strategies that capture the sentiments of every parishioner, devotee, ministry, organization, subdivision, and all others – for the greater glory of God and for the salvation of our people.  Pray for the success of the Parish Assembly that will be held at the St. Michael Retreat House in Antipolo City on February 19 – 20, 2011.
