The First Solo Parent Encounter sponsored by the Christian Family Movement was held in the Parish of Sto. Rosario de Pasig last November 13, 2010.  It seeks to assist solo parents like widows, widowers, separated and single parents.  - Cristy Evidente

A solo Parent Encounter Seminar was held at Sto. Rosario de Pasig Parish, Rosario, Pasig City last November 13, 2010. Twenty seven candidates participated from the parish. Most were widows and widows, others separated and single parents.
   It was a successful and enriching experience for the participants. In fact, after the seminar, the good news spread all over the parish on how deeply the participants were touched and able to relate themselves with the team who delivered the talks with the whole body. They felt a sense of belongingness where they could find a shoulder to lean on and people to laugh, sing, or dance with. In short, they were “kapanalig” . The emptiness that they felt in their lives vanished and they were filled with  love and affection for each other. Because of the good news, most of the solo parents from the parishioners and servers start asking the schedule of the next seminar and they gave me their names and contact numbers to include them on the next Solo Parent Encounter Seminar. Some even texted me because they have been touched that they offered everything to the glory of God.
   It was a wonderful experience! We appreciate the support of Rev. Fr. Joselito Jopson, our beloved Parish Priest and we also express our gratitude to the Solo Parent Encounter Team: Liling Nuguid, Linda Santos, Sonny Sison, Chit Almario, Ching Daclan, Lynda Asis, Joey Tongo and Mely Halili. This project was headed by CFM Chaircouple Narse & Nida Viray, as part of CFM Apostolate and under the Ministry of Family and Life headed by Bro. Gene and Sis. Baby Vergara. And due to public demand we assure all the Solos that  this is just the beginning; there will be more to come.
