துடிக்கின்றேன், துன்பங்கள் துரத்தியெனைத் தொடர்ந்துவர

வடிக்கின்ற  விழிநீருன் மலரடியில் விழக்கண்டும்,

அடிக்கின்ற கையென்னை ஆறுதலாய் அணைக்காதோ?

நடிக்கின்ற நடனத்து நவில்தில்லை நதிசடையாய்!

தீங்கொன்றும் நெஞ்சறிந்து செயவில்லை,  சிறிதளவும்

ஈங்கெனக்கு வஞ்சமெனும் எண்ணமில்லை, உளமுருகி

ஏங்குகின்ற அடியவனின் இடர்களைய இதுபொழுது,

பூங்குவளைப் போதலரும் பொழில்தில்லை புனல்சடையாய்!
