Small, Established Bay Area Company Needs One More Programmer

A reputable, well established data management company is looking for part time programmer to assist with new client system development and customer service (calls and email).
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1)  Provide client support services via email and by phone.
2)  Assist with
delivery of a high quality product that facilitates comprehensive data management;  
2)  Design solutions and implement system in a way that is simple, intuitive and easy to use that meets local and federal business requirements;
3)  Responsible for development, documentation, system maintenance, and system deployments.
4)  Participate and collaborate in requirement analysis, Quality Assurance (QA), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and deployments;
5)  Participate in planning and strategic short term and long term company goals;

6)  Work closely with product developer, business manager, system administrator and cross functional experts as needed 

7)  Ensure security, integrity and consistency of critical user and business partner data.

Candidate requires the following characteristics:
1)  A strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively
2)  R
eliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly.
3)  Able to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.
4)  Able to answer phones and problem solve with information from variety of clients - most unfamiliar with software and coding.
 
Hours:
Typical work hours are 8-5, M-F however some of work time can be flexible.  Ability to attend periodic meetings at locations on West Coast (usually California) is required. Working from your own space is required.

Required Skills:
1)  3+ years of experience using MySQL & PERL language skills to solve critical customer technical assistance and ability to "grock" the sensibility of existing code to continue development and assist with dialing in products.  Assist with identifying root causes of glitches and proposing fixes. 
2)  Excellent English writing skills and ability to understand customers from various backgrounds. Customer service experience is a plus.

Compensation
We will start out the candidate with short assignments and if the candidate is compatible with partners and company, duties and compensation will expand, in short, for right person this is an excellent growth opportunity.

Initially, the compensation will be $35/hour.  It will double within a year if the candidate is a good fit.  Opportunity for partnership within 18 months again, for right candidate.
