Hi all,

The Central Coast Broadband Consortia, which includes Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey Counties, has a grant from the California Public Utilities Commission to do some planning work for broadband deployment, access and adoption. The actual grant recipient is the City of Watsonville, which is very kindly acting as fiscal agent for the CCBC.

I'm on the project's executive committee, and we're in the process of getting the contracts done for the project. We're very much open to hearing from anyone who is interested. We've put out a simple request for expressions of interest in doing the work. You can download it at:

There's more information on the CCBC, the CPUC's grant program, and details on our grant project on my website too:

At this point, we're looking at five contracts for a web/database design team, an infrastructure specialist, a network specialist, a GIS analyst and an economic development analyst. Details are in the documents above.

Thanks!

Cheers,

Steve Blum
