Is there a particular topic for this meetup? Or could they speak about anything in the new tech realm?
In reference to the question about a specific theme for February's Santa Cruz New Tech Meetup: we are in the process of identifying speakers that would be available -- often a theme arises, but we are not currently driving this meeting towards a theme. We'd like to do that for most of the meetings, just not making it happen for this one. We're looking for presenters who have a new technology venture/product that they'd like to introduce to a large group of technology oriented people. Presentations are very short (5 minutes or a little longer) with a Q&A period. Then at the end of the meeting, presenters are available for conversation/discussion. We usually have 4-6 speakers.New technology has been software, web-based, wind energy, project mgmt tools online, email productivity tools, carpooling matchups, iphone apps -- all kinds of tech.If you have an idea, please run it by me before you edit yourself -- you never know! Santa Cruz is full of talent and activity and this is a great showcase opportunity for all of us.Thanks for asking Todd...and thanks to Sara for conveying the opportunity to the Geeks group...-Kathryn
Your post was very timely! I just emailed Kathryn, since the concept
and timing is exactly what we are looking for with our latest project
(xbrowse.com). Thanks for helping to spread the word. SC is such a
great town, partially because of people like you. Networking
shouldn't be this fun (or this easy) ;)
