SantaCruzGeeks.com website update and Welcome New Geeks

Morning Geeks,

The Geeks website got a bit of spring cleaning this week. The website we've had for the past 4 years (santacruzgeeks.com) is a Wordpress/Buddypress site that was in need of some spam cleanup and patching. While neglected for that past few years, it continues to serve as a member directory for local geeks and I have heard of many stories of folks getting connected to talent through the website. However, there is always confusion between the Google List and the website. Each serves a unique function -- the website as a member directory and the Google group is where the conversation happens. 

If you want to talk online -- make sure you are on the Google Group. If you want your profile up for others to peruse, create your profile by registering here http://santacruzgeeks.com/register/. 

Also -- please contact me offlist if you have some Wordpress theming chops and bandwidth to make some tweaks to the site.

Hi! I thought I was already a member of this group, but I guess I fell off the list. Anyway, I am geeky because I am working at Plantronics as the new Web Community Manager for their new Plantronics Developer Connection which is a community for the Plantronics Spokes SDK. Eventually, I would love to present info on our new community to the SCgeeks. Thanks!
