I have a couple of items from the event with Kenro Osawa to share with the club. Thank you to everyone who supported the event.

First, Osawa-san donated to our club an exquisite set of slate and shell stones, complete with certificate of provenance. They will not be living at the UnUrban, but I will bring them this Sunday and other times for special occasions.

He also donated the 9x9 teaching boards (with 6x6 on the back) he brought with him to us. Since we have several beginners and new players coming to learn, I will leave a couple of them at the UnUrban for teaching and regular playing as well.

The last item Osawa-san gave to me as we were packing up equipment is a kifu booklet from the Nihon Ki-in.

To thank him for the gifts and his teaching, and the members of the Shimamura Igo Club for attending, I would like to have a game played with the set (maybe a relay/rengo with all of us), recorded on a kifu sheet, and signed by us with a thank you note. (And of course a picture.)

See you all next time across the board.
-Brent

Shimamura Igo Club:

"In 1967, TOSHIHIRO SHIMAMURA 9dan, a leading pro go player, had opened his own social go salon in center of Nagoya. Since he created a place for GO fans to enjoy games or take lectures from famous pro players, today, his place of social relaxation became the largest GO salon in Nagoya. Come enjoy GO games at the cultural place with us.
We all welcome beginners to high level players."

Cheers.
