Santa Fe River Restoration at San Isidro Park

Ground Breaking Ceremony

Wednesday, November 7 at 2:00 pm

Santa Fe County Open Space and Trails Program invites you to attend a ground breaking for phase two of Santa Fe River restoration at San Isidro Park, located between CR 62 (Lopez Lane) and San Ysidro Crossing.

The project consists of river restoration on the Santa Fe River to address off-site drainage issues that have arisen since phase one construction was completed at San Isidro Park in 2007.  Work will include earthwork, construction of rock walls and grade control structures, catchment ponds and drainage, landscaping and re-vegetation.  Work will also include the construction of a community sculpture at the trailhead at San Ysidro Crossing.

Please join us for the ground breaking ceremony on Wednesday, November 7 at 2:00 pm at the San Isidro Park Trailhead.

Driving Directions: From Agua Fria Street, turn north on San Ysidro Crossing. Drive across the Santa Fe River and take the first left into the trailhead parking lot.

Please contact Meghan Bayer at mba...@santafecounty.org with any questions.

Hi Meghan
Thanks for the message! Any update on plans to connect the new trail across from the shelter on lower agua fria to the trail at Frenchy's park?

Jonathan - There's a bond question on the current SF county election ballot to fund this work, although the plan as I understand it seems to be to expand the existing trail westward from Frenchys with the orphan trail sections at San Isidro and Camino Real awaiting future work.

I'm interested as to when the culvert underpass at the new Camino Real trail will be opened and a route to the MRC and Caja del Rio will be accessible.
